Are you implying duck dynasty is about Appalachia, because I would reject that claim. I’m not very familiar with the other examples so I’m unsure if you are just showing rural poor white people in media or specifically Appalachian depictions in media. Ironically, the Robertson family is incredibly wealthy but they are still depicted with many of the poor rural stereotypes.

I see your point- Duck Dynasty is filmed in Louisiana, which is not technically Appalachia, so I probably should have referred to it as an example of a Southern rural stereotype. The short-lived series "Buckwild" filmed in WV, would be a better example of a reality series that thrives on Appalachian stereotypes (for "Buckwild" the WV state government actually refused to give them tax credits because they were concerned the series would promote stereotypes).
